Looks like Freddy might be looking JUCO to take over McKnights scholarship. He appears to be a freshman according to the roster at the JUCO.

And no, I do not have a rivals account. Just a little bit of sleuthing from the teaser.

I don't know anything about him, but I think that we could use another big guy to fill the two forward positions with Poseidon, Royce, and Booker (as I still don't think that Railey is ready for big time minutes yet)

This is definitely what the rivals story is about because the link to the story today is at the bottom of the page haha.

What happened to him to make him land at this JUCO instead of at one of the places that showed interest in him last year? Is it talent or academics related?

Be nice to let Railey RS rather than settle for scrap minutes the next 2 years.

If Bruce is really on our radar then I'd bet a shiny new quarter that McKnight's not the only departure.

Who else could you see leaving? Because nobody else would have to leave to have a spot for Bruce.

That makes absolutely zero sense. A 6'9" kid with three years left to play transfers out (McKnight) and the staff is possibly bringing in a 6'9" kid with three years left to play (Bruce).

I'm not sure how this directly relates to them bringing him in for someone else.

I can see where you're coming from. Thats assuming that we didn't just start recruiting this guy when McKnigh decided to transfer. However, I bet both Fred & McKnight have know for a while that he wasn't going to be here next year. McKnight couldn't see any minutes with this team and its depth issues, he knew he was going to have trouble ever seeing the floor in a cyclone uniform. So I think Fred knew he would have another scholorship to see who he could get.

Coach McRoy is on staff then I am confident he must be a pretty good juco. We got him because his ability to recruit Jucos right?

I'm thinking the article meant to say he was visiting "Iowa State", not "Iowa".

It sure wouldn't be the first time someone got that wrong.

I think the only way we get him is if West Virginia passes on him. Does he have an offfer from them yet?

West Virginia already recruited a PF. Here's a list of their commits. Looks pretty full but I have no idea of scholarship availability for WV.
