They will talk their way out of it. After all, KU must be on TV and in the Big Show for the ratings.

I have extreme disdain for KU and their chicanery. I was speaking with a couple of K-State fans prior to last years game. Their feelings for KU are on par with our feelings for EIU.

Notice

Notice that women's basketball and football lost scholarships but no men's basketball. Self imposed penalties are a joke.

I know a couple of die-hard/life-long Jayhawks and they have been anything but positive about the program the past two years. It's actually amazing when you consider they have one of the best rosters top to bottom of anybody in the country.

I generally don't like to see programs get in trouble and have it impact the players but I can't say I would be hurt at all if KU couldn't go to the big dance for the next couple of years when they have a legit chance to win it all :)

I am hearing from Big Red types that Mark Mangino future may be seriously in jeopardy. They voluntered and lost 2 fb scholies at wish of the school. Not enough.. NCAA is talking about many schollies, no post season bowl games, etc. NCAA is going to drop the hammer for 1997-2003 infractions. And Mark was coaching at tail end at KU so he is part of the problem. Players were allowed the answers on sheets while taking tests. They were not monitored for a testing atmosphere. Anything to pass. Crushing accusations in the eyes of the God - Mr. NCAA.

BRYCEMAN hit it on the head! I'm not sure if any additional penalties will be imposed - but I'm 100% certain the pristine image (read sarchasm here) of the KU MBB team will be maintained at all costs. Heck, the first time around, the administration at KU cast two of their programs (FB and WBB) into the role of sacrificial lambs, in order to save the image of the third. AND although NCAA infractions were present in all THREE programs, the WBB and FB programs literally could claim that they "took one for THE TEAM." Yes, the only team that matters in Lawrence - MBB. I know that ISU athletics has been far from perfect (especially in recent years), but we DON'T receive any special favors or treatment from the NCAA. It just proves that these NCAA investigations are all Phogged up. BTW - Lester Earl is my hero..........NOT!!

The NCAA will undoubtedly slap their men's BB team on the wrist because too much TV money is at stake. After all, the BB team never does anything wrong, just ask Roy.

Oh Roy? Roy? Where did you go? You say you do not remember a thing? Well, okay, you are off the hook.
