A little more help for the computer inept please : I went to vpn.iastate.edu. They asked for an ID and password. I used the Id and Password I use for Cyclones.tv. They didn't like it. Is that not the ID and passwrd to use or what? Thanks.

You need an Iowa State Net ID, which is what you get if you're an ISU student or faculty member. Some alumni have these as well. Your Net ID would be everything that comes before the "@iastate.edu" in your email address if you have one of those. If you don't, then you probably don't have access.

The AD agreeing to this idiotic arrangement really screwed over the out of state fans.

This is basically no different than 2 years ago, when the broadcast was also restricted to inside the state of Iowa.

Ahhh, the Chinese firedrill all over again! :-(

Cyclones.com:
TV/Online Viewing Options For ISU-Texas Football Game

Basically, if you're out of state, you're screwed (by Big XII contract, not Cyclone.tv). Most sports bars down here in Texas have long DirecTV contracts, so you're screwed there, too. Call first!

I don't know how prevalent Mediacom is in Iowa but the difference is the 2012 game was broadcast within Iowa most local ABC affiliates, no? Is this dedicated Cyclones.tv *channel* on even the most basic Mediacom pkg? Because that's one thing that BURNNNNNS the Horns fans even right here within Texas - even tho LHN is on more cable providers than it was 2 years ago, you still have to upgrade to one of the mid or even high-teir channel pkgs to actually get it! And noooo, you can't just watch LHN online at watch.espn.com - because ESPN first validates that your cable/sat provider is selling you LHN to watch from your service.

Yes, I'd love to know how this 3rd Teir Rights decision gets made and motivates ISU to take the bullet twice in a row vs, say, Kansas or another Horns game with low overall viewership. I think only 1st and 2nd Teir TV Rights spread their revenue equally among all schools.

So how much extra $$$ does ISU get for this 3rd tier to make it worth ******* off lots of out-of-state fans???

Congrats to JP and the Big 12--you have managed to do what 45 years of terrible football have not. I just don't care enough anymore--I'm not going to chase some absurd scheme to watch this game. I have cyclones.tv...not good enough. I have DirectTV...sorry, no cigar. Later--I'll be watching one of literally dozens of games available during that time slot.

Okay, got it, appears I'm out of luck. Maybe I'll hang around the site and see if a stream, etc develops. Thanks for the message and info.. i'm beginning to question the value of Cyclones.TV in some respects.

There are websites, such as hidemyass.com, that you go to and access the internet from that webpage with a different IP address. I'm not sure if you can get a specific state's IP, but I'll look into it more and share my findings. Pretty sure I can figure it out for all Cyclone out-of-staters with Cyclones.tv.

Find someone with Mediacom and and a sling box. We watched a basketball game at work once using that setup since we don't have a cable feed.

How come I just can't sit on my damn couch, turn on my TV, grab a beer and watch the game like everybody else watches their favorite college team. Thanks to everyone who had their hand in this decision. Hope the money was worth it. Idiots.

I watched the Toledo game from that site. No subscription needed.

Going to a website for Texas Game Watches - found this downtown Mpls. Spot - I've heard good things about the bar but have not been there before.

https://www.google.com/maps/place/R...2!3m1!1s0x87f62849d889647b:0x79b86353a263f0a7

I have been in contact with the Texas alumni group here and they are going to experiment (today I think) on streaming the LH Network with one of their members subscriptions at this bar. The bar does not have the subscription as I understand it (no one does). I'll post here and on our ISUAA Club of the Twin Cities Facebook page if it works. They have invited us to join them if they can figure it out.

We have done some things with the Texas group way back and they are pretty good eggs.

You couldn't spring for Cyclones.tv and support the cause a little?

I have a cyclones.tv subscription. Doesn't mean I'm getting to watch the game on cyclones.tv, you know...
