LW has to be at a point now where these two paths...

-- going overseas and trying to kill it there to a point an NBA team brings him back over and takes a chance on him, like what happened with Deonte Burton

-- staying at Iowa State, doubling down on his game and working on the aspects... PG skills and defense... that he lacks right now, coming one year closer to graduation (if one is to think about a life beyond basketball, if only a little), and leading the team

...probably have about equal chance of having him end up in the NBA.

If LW turns into apex LW in the next six-months, he has a legitimate shot to score 20+ PPG, lead the Big 12 in scoring and end up as first-team all-conference or even CPOTY, and he really could have an All-American level season. The supporting cast is there for him. He drops into the lineup as the alpha scorer the roster needs right now. Carsen Edwards from Purdue is a great example for the type of impact he could have nationally if he comes back.

All that plus a deep tournament run, and he would turn some heads.

He is not in a great situation right now. He has two paths to improve it, though both have their risks. He is only getting older. I hope he makes the better choice.

I would I have to think that the probability of getting a true shot at the NBA would be much higher if LW came back to college. I would look at Burton's path and call that an outlier because that just doesn't happen much. Plus Burton was out of eligibility so the situations really aren't comparable.

I've heard from a solid source if LW doesn't get many looks he'll be back

As much as I’d like to believe you and/or your ‘source’, didn’t an article just come out yesterday after interviewing Prohm that fans should forget about any possibility that either guy would be back? (Sorry, can’t remember which writer it was-Petersen, Hines, or other?).

Why would the NBA have any say in college eligibility for an undrafted player?
You go through the draft, don't get drafted, you become a free agent. That means you can't go into the draft again next year. The NBA and NBAPA need to sign off on going back to college and being eligible for the draft again next year.

I thought he really matured toward the end of the year, would love to have him back obviously. Also, he needs to break the career "fouled on three point attempt" record, if he hasn't already ;).

I thought there was an IMMENSE change when he bought into his role. Good kid, good player and he became a good teammate and ambassador for our university.

Ignore his stats from last year, but the kid has shown growth.

Or the player just withdraws from the draft before the deadline if it sounds like they aren’t getting drafted. It’s not that hard.

If he’s that confident he can make a career out of it still going undrafted whether it’s G-League or overseas that’s his choice.

The more I've thought about this, I think Prohm knows he has an immediate transfer guard locked up.

Why would you bring it up if you didn't know for certain you had someone lined up? Because then if you don't land someone, you've set yourself up to be criticized and the spring recruiting labeled as a failure because you yourself said you needed to add an immediate transfer scoring guard.

I'm trying to be hopeful!!

I thought the same thing when he was so specific in that interview.

My guess he brought it up because he’s that honest and obviously trying hard for Tucker also indicated how much he wanted a scoring guard yet. The fact that Moss could end up at KU tells me how hard it is to get one. Plus a William & Mary guy ends up at NCarolina, etc. If he doesn’t land one, I would hope fans wouldn’t label it a failed spring. Even if it’s just Grill and two sit-outs. (Or one banked schollie). But yeah, let’s hope a grad transfer still emerges once coaching change and draft tryouts are over.

Wigginton would be an "Immediate Impact Guard".

Yes?

I was answering another dudes question about if you stay in the draft, don't get drafted, you can return to school. That rule is proposed. Both NBA and NCAA need to sign off on it. It's not really anything to worry about as it not in effect this year.

I thought the same thing when he was so specific in that interview.

I was having a thought (or maybe more fantasy) of something like that.

"Bolton is a silent, provisional commitment pending Wigginton's status!"

The more I think about that, the more it is probably nonsense, though. Bolton is probably just weighing options, and I would imagine Prohm would prefer to have both of them and find a way for the scholarship situation to work itself out one way or another.

Unlike Shayok, however, Lindell is not having a great run-up to the draft. If his goal is the NBA and not to just get paid next year, he is probably best served coming back.
