AMES, Iowa – Iowa State volleyball signee Hannah Willms has been named to Volleyball Magazine’s Fab-50 list. Volleyball Magazine lists the top-50 high school seniors each year in no particular order.

Willms (OH/Waterloo, Iowa), a PrepVolleyball.com All-American, had 570 kills for an average of 5.18 per set this season en route to being named to the Des Moines Register’s All-State Elite Team. She also averaged 2.70 digs and 0.56 blocks in leading Dike-New Hartford to the state tournament. She was named the No. 37 recruit in the country by PrepVolleyball.com.

Willms joins 2009 Cyclone signees Hannah Johnson, Alison Landwehr and Jamie Straube, who were named to the prestigious list a year ago.

Never thought I'd live to see the day ISU had one Fab 50 on the roster.... much less four.

Way to go CJL & company!

I've not seen her play in person, but have talked to those who have - who were very impressed. Very physical and very aggressive. Will be interesting to see how they try to fit her in.

I was talking with her USAV coach after the Texas match this season. If she's as good as advertised - then I'm extremely excited. All he could do is talk about the libero (Hahn) they recruited with her.

Willms has to be a redshirt this year, wouldn't you think? Still have Henson another year and Hockaday will be a junior.

Did Annie Meyer RS this year? She was pretty well thought of in last year's class. Guessing they'll let she and Hahn duke it out to replace Mass, then RS the other (?). Find is a bit hard to think they plan to have 3 active DS's.

She's as good as advertised. The problem will be her versatility. She should redshirt. But she could be hard to not use even if its as a back up if people get hurt, because they could seriously use her at OH, MB and OP. Ideally she'd redshirt. I'd hate to waste her doing duty like that. Hahn is as good as advertised as well. She's going to be hard to keep off the floor too.

Hannah Wilms, and Kristen Hahn both ISU recruits should be playing at the Knapp Center today at 12:30 and 2:30, and then likely tomorrow too if you are bored and looking to see the future of ISU volleyball.
