Cy Statues

Does anyone know where these would
be available for purchase? Talking the 4-5’ tall ones you see around Ames and the stadium.

I saw a Herky one today at a home and thought Cy would be sweet to incorporate into landscaping.

A friend of a friend designed two of them. I think they all either were kept to be displayed by the university or went to private owners like businesses who display them. I could be wrong on all of this but I think you would have to try to buy one from an individual owner - there isn't some stock of them somewhere - each one is an individual unique creation.

When they were originally made, businesses sponsored the creation and paint job. I think that was $1000. For an extra $2500, they could keep the statue. Five businesses chose not to pony up the extra. Those five went to auction and brought in roughly $24,000.
