It is about time we start pushing this narrative. Heavily! Name 3 superior guards in college basketball right now. Go through the rosters and just try to make an argument for three better. Really really hard.

Secondly, extremely early I know in conference play, but who are the leading candidates for Big 12 POY? The conference is likely to be a two horse race between Iowa State and Houston. Houston does not have a Jamal Shead caliber player this year. Is Curtis Jones the early leader for Big 12 POY?

There’s a lot of games left. As of right now I’d agree, but he’s got a long way to go

He deserves it. My memory isnt great, has a 6th man ever won Big 12 POY?

Cyclones are very fortunate to have him. TJ smartly plays him as he does.

And, great player leading a very good (too early yet to say great) team. Curtis Jones mirrors his coach, and the team mirrors Curtis Jones. Plus, it's not a bad thing to play in the same backcourt as Tamin Lipsey.

the bench/6th man narrative gets old. it is short sighted. he plays the same minutes as tamin and keshon.
I think the 6th man narrative really holds him back from being discussed as an All-American and Big 12 POY from the national media. National media perspective: 6th man of the year? Absolutely! But I mean he is a 6th man and comes off the bench how good can he be?

I personally would love to see TJ and some Big 12 talking heads like Fran Fraschilla really start to push his name and this narrative.

i wish the announcers wouldnt make a big deal out of the bench part of it or accurately describe the situation.

'he comes in for a second wave of staggered scoring, but is the best scoring option on the team.' calling him a 6th man is lazy and antiquated.

Is it still advantageous to keep him as a 6th man? No one lecture me I understand the theory, but I also heard TJ say preseason that Milan would be a "shot hunter" this season and I'm not seeing that...... at all. I'm especially not seeing it in close games where we need him the most. Maybe Jones should start and Milan should have some incentive to earn it
