Creighton a "legit sleeper"

I would enjoy Greg doing well too. Mainly to keep the future wife happy.

I would enjoy Greg doing terrible... and if you think about it, it's probably guaranteed to happen (unless they have great assistant coaches)

Actually if you think about it, he has a very good chance of having a great team and going to the NCAA tournament. He did it 3 times at UNI and he is back in that league with great talent and the best player in the league (his son)

Obviously he wasn't the most important cog in that machine, since UNI didn't skip a beat when he left

outside of those seasons he has done terrible everywhere he's been, and I don't see any reason to think it would be any different this year, regardless of the players

I agree. I can see why some ISU fans would still support GMAC since he is no longer here and he was in general a pretty nice guy. That being said... I simply can't forgive and forget the hatchet job he performed on the ISU basketball program. ISU basketball was appointment tv for me growing up and attending games was a special event and GMAC turned it into something I couldn't even stomach watching for 5 minutes. I will always resent him for that.

It's not obvious. He was the head coach and he turned a pathetic program (which at the time UNI was) around and into a top MVC program. He couldn't do that at ISU but I have no doubts that he will be successful at Creigton. Good for him too.

It's no different than Dana Altman. Success at mid major and none at high level job.

Sounds like predicting creighton's season would be a good cybookie event

Takes too much energy to **** on Greg. We have Fred now and as far as Im concerned the Greg/ISU years never really happened. So I wish Greg the best in his CU deal.

He will **** aways all the talent by making terrible coaching decisions. He had a good team last year and did very little with it. The guy has simply lost it as a coach, he may have had it at UNI but it was mainly his support system.

I'm not going to make an effort to cheer against him. I just don't wish him the best. I don't expect Creighton to ever get back to their glory years under him, either.

The NCAA regionals are in Omaha this year I believe. Maybe the Clones and Creighton meet at Century Link in Omaha come march? They will draw 17k a game.

"But McDermott got out before ISU lost any patience with him and landed about as well as any coach could while going from a power-six conference to one at least perceived as lesser in stature."

I personally lost some patience
