My FIL played minor league baseball with him back in the late 50s.

I did think how it was kind of funny how he just sort of walked up, gave them the trophy and immediately walked away. No hand shaking, no waving, just immediately turned and walked away.

I thought that was strange too but, I think Gary didn't want to the attention of the players to be on him, he wanted them celebrating the title so quickly turned away. Just my opinion though

Always like seeing Gary around town. Guy has zero ego. I've tried to teach my son how awesome he was back in the day. He'll get it some day when he's older.
