Has anybody used a product called "The Shield Deluxe" virus/spyware/adware software? A friend is thinking about getting this and wanted my opinion. I have never heard of it. I know some of the ads you see on the internet for spyware removal are actually spyware programs, so I am leary of it. Is this a legit virus protection program?

Thanks,

GO CYCLONES!!!

If I were him I would just use AVG or Avast!. They are free for home users.

I have never heard of it, like the last poster tell him to get AVG. Or if he really wants to buy something tell him to buy the AVG internet security suite

I have never been into "complete" packages. I like symantec corp edition but loathe the internet security edition. Symantec antivirus itself is ok. McCaffee Ive never liked. Panda is decent. But all in all you can get away with the free ones mentioned above and use other stuff for spyware. I have used adaware and sypboyt s&d for that in the past, but if you start out with a "clean" system Microsofts Windows Defender does a good job.
