I can say that I personally know Collin Bevins and his family. I'm up in the air about what he's going to do. Part of me wants to say that he sticks with the good guys but apart of me thinks he's thinking hard about EIU.
He had one hell of a game against Carroll the other night to help with a victory for the Panthers of Creston. I'm still wondering if he's a legite D1 prospect though. As the old saying goes, you get recruited on potential and he does have a ton of potential.
I know when he was contacted by Iowa last week he wasn't on the side lines for the Texas game. I call it a toss up if we get him or not.

Was he supposed to be on the sidelines for Texas?

Clive, Iowa
We offered and that means we want him. The Iowa offer validates the potential of Collin that we first identified. I'm optimistic our staff can close the deal.

Give him time to sort it out. ISU has as much to offer as U of I.

From my understanding, he loves Clayborn. I also am under the impression from people who coach him that Iowa wanted some video of him during the first few weeks of the season. ISU seen him at camps and then offered. Iowa got video and are now offering.

I noticed after Iowa talked to him that his rating went up between a 2 and 3 star.

Get bent Squawk.

If Mr. Bevins decides to attend Iowa after having "verbally committed" to ISU, then that is his choice.

His doing so might also reveal a distinct lack of character and would mean that ISU is better off without him anyway--should that be proven.

Thanks for the chuckle. Barkley will be a Cyclone and will be a nightmare for Hawks everywhere.

According to some of my old friends in CF, Hill will be a Clone, unless he gets some outlandish offer from a huge school. He loves Rhoads' personality.

Distinct lack of character? Cmon. You act like this never happens. You think ISU has never had a recruit commit to them after being committed elsewhere? Would you deny him as he would have had a "distinct character problem"?

I can remember when Bill Snyder of K-State used to ROB programs of verbal commits. In Bill's case there was always something pretty sitting at the end of the deal.

Just because something happens, perhaps even on a regular basis, does not mean that I have to accept such an action as an honorable one. You might note my use of the word "might". There are undoubtedly some cases where a player changes his or her commitment and does so under circumstances where the choice does not evidence a distinct character problem.

With regard to Mr. Bevins--1) He has not made that choice at this point and
2) I don't know the particular facts of his case. Hence, my use of the word "might".

Maybe he just wants to be in IC to witness the meltdown first hand when they lose to Northwestern again.

Or maybe he's read the "rumors" on Hawkeye Report about Ferentz being on the hot seat? heh.

The "rumors floating around" about Barkley are likely as credible as the turds floating around in "hawkinpeace's" toilet.
