Not sure what cost-of-living is like elsewhere in the Big 12 but check out home prices on Zillow some time. $4m/year (with bonuses taking it up to potentially $6,000,000+) is a princely sum in Ames!

Matt deserves more in comparison to his peers. Damn some guys are over paid. I would like to see Matt make $5.3 million. That would put him right above Klieman.

Campbell has been a bargain salary wise for the university, well under payed for what we are getting out of the program. It will be interesting to see if ISU can come up with or a big donor will throw some money his way.

Off the cuff, places like Manhattan, Lawrence, Stillwater, Morgantown and maybe Lubbock and Cincinnati would be comparable or lower cost of living compared to Ames. So Gundy, Leipold, Klieman, Brown & McGuire would be rolling in more than Campbell.

It's going to take the fan base finally spending money.

To Campbell though, the guy has already made over $20M and he isn't about flash. As long as he is in Ames he will make tens of millions more (next contract will have him at $5M). Sure, he could get get PAID elsewhere but then fired if things don't go his way after 2-3 years...then it's time to restart that climb, restart with a whole new staff. Heacock isn't going anywhere either. In Ames it is HIS program, it's run HIS way, no outside voices, no outside demands, no boosters that need constant attention. At this point, you ride out Ames and live as nice of a life as you could anywhere. The coaching staff has been a great evolution and he has never had to hire a guy in desperation. Recruiting...will get better again after this year, and has been humming.

Keep this run up and money will flow in. Boosters will step up, ticket sales and ticket prices will probably climb. I think WeWill will get a boost to hold players. One thing none of us have ever seen (even the hero of the game hasn’t) in our lifetime is a conference championship. I think winning one will boost things tremendously.

Dude deserves a raise but nothing about him or his family screams materialistic. If anything I could see him wanting his assistants to make more.

I dont think it does. He lives in a very nice hood just outside of town, but his home is very modest compared to the rest.

Exactly that, plus even a slight raise and more years with job security for him and his family goes a long way.
