Not exactly sure.
we have had 4 coaches in roughly 30 years. One lasted 2, that means we are holding coaches for a decent time, aka we will give you a fair shot. All but walden can say this. Kansas will bring you in and can you in two if you don't perform miracles. I see the same at KSU after codger leaves (or most likely passes while on the sideline) due to his success.

i would put minny at a bigger graveyard than us. Kill has done well with great timing to take the job.

We we now have decent funds and great support to be attractive to an up and comer or someone who wants to settle down for a while. We just had such a huge hole to climb out of, it has taken awhile. Plus, we had the media of the 80s and 90s pushing the fry crap that we are still trying to overcome.

Just off the top of my head, what Minnesota has that we don't...
1. Sole FBS program in the state
2. Major metro area with fun things to do
3. Similar geography to conference peers
4. Some amount of tradition. They count 7 national championships and 18 conference titles, both of which Brewster tried to use for recruiting.

Any one of these doesn't make it a better job than us. But I am not sure where we would trump them.

the last of those championships were when? The 50s or so? Current kids don't care, just ask Brewster. Minny does have advantages over us. They reason I would put them higher is they have fired coaches a lot quicker than us.

ISU needs a unique coach... basically a Hoiberg type that can sell their NFL and ISU experience instead of trying to sell the program.
