Read that prepvolleyball.com is reporting that ISU got verbal from KC O'Hara VB star Tori Hurtt. Hurtt has lead her team to three straight Class 3 state volleyball championships, earning 1st team all-state each year. I have seen her play several times and would compare her to another KC area player currently on the ISU team. At 6-2, she is a taller version of Victoria Henson.

she is listed on prepvolleyball.com's top 50 recruits in 2011. If true, way to go Coach Johnson, and welcome Tori!

How many Fab 50's has CJL & Co. signed now? 3? 4?

I never dreamed of the day we'd get one.

Nice job Christy!

Nebraska also was very interested in Hurtt, which is enough for me.
Regarding being a national championship contender, both Nebraska and ISU are going to have to break up Texas first. They're getting absolutely monster recruits for this year, 2011, and even 2012.
They signed Haley Eckerman (Waterloo East), the top player ever in Iowa, away from us this year.

TMAN, speaking of Nebby, how likely is it that new stadium and practice facilities bond will pass? I hear now that if it does, that the Nebby volleyball might move into the current bball facility to try and draw larger crowds.

Maybe Haley will get homesick and transfer to ISU. Does the B12 have strict transfer rules for non-revenue sports?

Wow. She's good and would have been a good catch, but the top recruit ever out of Iowa? I'm sorry the "top player" ever? That's a bold statement.
