I have been streaming Christmas music on my PC the last few days and have been incredibly productive. Anybody else experience this?

Although, I have to say the song "Santa's off on a sleigh ride" taken from Lou Reed's "Take a Walk on the Wild Side" was a little disturbing.

I truly dislike Christmas music. That being said it's hard not to laugh at Porky Pig's Blue Christmas.

They're going to be in concert in Des Moines from the 12th to the 14th. A must see.

They were my first ever concert. I think I was 10?

They're great! I always play their music when putting up Christmas decorations.

I love Christmas music! It's so dang cozy. It also makes me want to sit by the fireside, drink hot cocoa, snuggle up in a blanket, and watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation!

Love, love, love Christmas music! There is one song about a guy meeting his ex-girlfriend at the grocery store that is played waaaaaaay too much here in Omaha. For the life of me I can't figure out why it's played during Christmas season. The only reference is that he saw her on Christmas Eve...that's it. After that it's a lame story. It really bugs the crap out of me.

Is this it? Because this is the greatest christmas song ever!

In fact this is one of the most beautiful songs in the history of music.

OK. I grew up a pretty hard rock guy (60's 70's). But the one Christmas song that stops me in my tracks every single time I hear it is "Little Drummer Boy" by Johnny Cash.

I love Mannheim and the Acapella Group and the Dan Fogelberg song shown above. But Johnny Cash - and the "Little Drummer Boy". The best ever. OK - I love almost ALL Christmas music, but Johnny Cash brings something different.

I created a Pandora station from Bing Crosby White Christmas...get a good mix of the classic Christmas songs done the right way.

This isn't perfect, but the best I could come up with. About 2:30 in you'll hear Johnny start singing this song. Maybe it is the vision of my dad in ecstacy listening to this kind of thing, or maybe I just love it on my own. But this is Christmas.

And what a simpler time. I miss it, even though I made fun of my parents for listening to this kind of stuff.

I love Christmas music...

My faves:

The classic Andy Williams Green album
Amazon.com: Merry Christmas: Andy Williams: Music

The classic Andy Williams Red album
Amazon.com: The Andy Williams Christmas Album: Andy Williams: Music

I love these because they are big...full vocal and orchestra backup, plus Andy has a great voice...

Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas Extravaganza
Amazon.com: Brian Setzer - Christmas Extravaganza: Brian Setzer, Beth Curry, Bernie Dresel, Robbie Hioki, Julie Reiten, Pierre Lamoureux, Lisa Hendricks: Music

Honorable mention to Bing and White Christmas...

And others too numerous to mention...

I watch the BSO DVD at least once a summer...

Working in retail through high school and college, I now despise Christmas music. I can understand a week or 2 before Christmas, but when radio stations start switching playlists in mid-October? That is a bit ridiculous to me. I have had to change all my pre-sets in my car.
