You sound pretty confident he is going pro, is he going pro or entering the draft? He would be a fool not to enter the draft, you get to do that once and still have the option to return if you don't hire an agent. Going through all the camps would be a chance to improve, I'm not sure why he didn't do that last year.
But anyway, I would be shocked if he didn't enter the draft, but that is much different than hiring an agent, especially with most drafts having him in the second round now.

New rule is, if you do not have an agent, you do not get drafted. Teams only have a few picks anymore, and they cannot afford to waste one.

Soccer. Craig is going to to go pro and plans on entering the NBA Draft. To my knowledge, he will release a written statement within a week.

Sounds about I right. As far as I know...he was planning on leaving for Vegas a week after the season ended to get with one of those workout academy type places.

Well yeah, that isn't new, of course you hire an agent if you are going to stay in the draft. But you can still enter and go through the workouts before you hire an agent. There is a date, I believe in April that they have to announce by, if you stay in after that date you would hire an agent. I'm not sure what you mean with the teams only have a few picks and can't waste them, NBA has only had two rounds for many years.
