I used to work for the company when I got out of college. While I am sure oil companies are trying to expand their renewable portfolio, this will probably give Cheveron more control over RINS needed to meet their renewable fuel standard.

I nearly took a job with them as well, and know a few people there. They seem like a top notch outfit.

Nah, I wasn't fully vested in my stock and options when the company went public, I think I only had 1 or two years vested. I think I sold it after I had left for not much money at the time.

Meh. However, when I was there, they were going through growing pains. I would guess they are more mature now than they were when I was at the company.
