I am surprised that Iowa did not go after him, but maybe they have everything at the safety position under control. Really wish he was still a Cyclone.

Is this the guy who chased Rhoads as he was leaving his high school because he wanted to commit to us on the spot? Seems to be rather impulsive.

I remember that playing time was the rumored reason he left, which I thought was odd since he seemed to be in line to play a lot this year. Did anything else ever come out about why he left?

He played quite a bit last year, always subbed in passing downs too if he wasn't out there already IIRC

He played his high school ball in Iowa City (High or West I can't remember) and Iowa didn't recruit him. It had to have been character related or academics that kept them from going after him because he certainly has nice athletic ability.

Still no word on why he left ISU? For some reason I was thinking it was academics, but I didn't pay that much attention to it when it happened.

Maybe he knows he's talented and KF likes to keep all his talented players on the bench

I don't think it was really publicized why he left. Sort of an unknown to the public from what I remember.

Ace Rogers...sounds like a 1920's science fiction hero!

He played at IC West; definitely had the athletic ability so it was a red flag that the hometown Hawkeyes didn't go after him.

A friend of mine told me Michigan wanted him a year ago but that friend also lies, although he was correct when he said Rogers was going to transfer a few weeks before it was official. We could have used the guy this year. Who knows what happened, but I thought he deserved more playing time last season than he got. I also thought it was unfair to stick a guy with that much talent at nickelback only.

I could be wrong, but I think he was a starting corner for the 2013 season opener and after that his playing time steadily declined. There was never much of an explanation offered.
