RG was on Lazer this morning.

Yes because the mgmt at KGGO wouldn't even give him the chance to finish the week and say goodbyes to listeners who have supporting him and the station. On top of that Lou and Heather were not allowed to comment on the situation on their show.

KGGO mgmt is oblivious. It was nice of Moose and Lazer to let RG come on this morning and say his thanks and tell how things went down.

I look forward to hearing RG on the radio again soon.

I just stick with sports radio or music. Tough break for Round Guy. Sounds like they didn't even give him any respect in how the canned him.

For me I like morning shows like Lou, RG and Heather or Morning Moose. I like hearing the local people talk with some music sprinkled in. I hate listening to sportstalk here in DM. I also don't like listening to just music, I like to have the personality of the on air DJ to interrupt the music. Thats just me though.

I have resorted to ESPN radio here in DSM - local sports talk radio is horrendous. I will listen to KXNO when it is the Cyclone Call in Show or if I know Chris is going to be on but otherwise it is the ESPN national radio for me.

1700 "The Champ" is part of the same radio group. I wonder if the new ownership will gut it of all local shows and just go ESPN 24-7?

Lou, RG & Heather were on my radio almost every morning until Morning Moose came along (Mancow got too political on his show, so thank God Lazer dropped him). I haven't been able to put my finger on it, but for some reason, I always enjoyed their birthday trivia game.

Local radio is not the same as it used to be and unfortunately it will continue moving to the corporate side for the forseeable future. While I dont mind listening to the national sports talk stuff I grew up on local radio and its nice to have people talkingabout local stuff that know your city. I grew up with RG on the radio and its a bummer that hes gone. at least from GGO.

Glad to hear Jack still has a place. "My friend Jack" was always a fav of mine.

I wouldn't mind seeing Round Guy make his way over to a sports radio station... I think he could be prett good if fully commited.

Around 4-5 years ago (I think it was during Breast Cancer Awareness Month), Round Guy talked candidly on-air about losing his wife to breast cancer back in 1983. You could really sense the sadness and loneliness in his voice, even after all those years. It was one of the few times I can ever remember tearing up while listening to the radio. Too bad they had to get rid of him without even giving him a chance to tell his listeners goodbye. Not everyone deserves better than that, but Round Guy is someone who did.

He's about as knowledgeable (or more) about sports as almost all the current on-air talent. Team him with a hard core sports guy and you have the makings of a good sports show - with humor.

With everything Steve has been through - through the years - we should believe he will land on his feet somewhere.

He'd be great on KXNO, my only problem is that he'd be another guy whose main sport is baseball, but he's always fun to listen to. That station has several serious gaps in talent - he'd instantly be among the strong ones.
