Diallo might have been a top 5 pick out of high school. Making him go to college for a year allowed the NBA to realize he's probably not a top 5 pick. I would say that's exactly what the intent of the one year rule is. Making players go to college for a year is not about developing them, it gives the NBA a year to scout them against college players instead of high school players.

Which makes good sense from the NBA's point of view. Scouting HS players has to be tough especially when they are playing against other HS players. Not to mention the resources involved in doing it. Some of these great HS players are exposed in a college setting.

I saw a mock draft yesterday that had both McKay and Georges going second round. As for credible sources, I am not seeing anyone with Monte going at all.

I've given up on trying to figure out who will make it in the NBA after Kane couldn't even get on to a roster.

That one wasn't hard to figure out, Kane was a 23 year old playing against mostly 18-20 year olds. He was stronger than anybody he played against, his style wasn't going to translate well to the NBA. There's a lot of random 23-24 year old D-Leaguers who would dominate if they got to play against college kids too.

If Monte will certainly be a 1st round pick I won't be too bummed about him leaving. I feel like the advice he will receive will be top notch and agenda free since his coach of two years was someone that actually helped make picks and is currently an NBA coach. I'm not worried he'll make a regrettable decision.

Love Monte, but I don't see him as a No. 1 pick. Not enough bulk, still not a good enough shot. The fact that he is a guard does not help either. 6' 2" guys are a dime a dozen in the college ranks. I suspect smaller guards in general are not drafted in the first round, just because of this.

No, and the idiot who wrote that states Monte has "good size" for a PG...that's hilarious, as although about 6'2, definitely very slight in build....I wonder if these guys who throw these things out there due more than read a box score...

Size doesn't really matter. My wife was just saying that the other night
