They may all be just the same, but is there a company anyone recommends for carpet cleaning?

Depends. If you live in Iowa City and you rent, then the best cleaner is the one that has a deal with the property management, because if you try to choose someone else, they will keep your deposit. (Not like they ever planned on giving it back anyway)
