This is good, although I'd go:
'17 5-6 wins
'18 6 min.
'19 6-8.
'20 7-9.
The Big 12 isn't so good that being consistent and having good play on the line doesn't get minimum bowl eligibility.
The past 4 years have broken me. I'm to the point where I just want ISU to win 5-7 games consistently (preferably 6 or 7). Anything more than that is gravy.

I figure 4-5 wins this year and the big leap forward to come in 2018. After that, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect 7+ wins and a bowl trip most seasons. This staff has proven they have the recruting chops, now it's just a matter of developing the talent.

Initially, I planned to do year-by-year — I’m switching tactics to a 4-year plan. Setting the bar low, based on ISU football history, but pushing for a slight upsurge.

- Regular season (48 games): 25-23 (2 seasons above .500, including postseason)
- Big 12 (36 games): 15-21, at least one upper-division finish/winning league record (most recent instance of that was ’05, when B12 was divisional).
- Postseason: 2.5 bowl appearances, 1 of them a step up relative to postseason history.

My five year plan is pretty much to not die of a stroke or heart attack so I can see for myself how we did. 
I absolutely love the guy as a recruiter and getting the fan base excited but I still haven't seen results on field yet. Now with that said, I'll give him 3 more years. If he can something good he'll start getting inquiries from other places. I know he's from Ohio and all but who's to say he doesn't stick around and make Ames his forever home. Kind of like how Ferentz did at EIU.
I expect us to get to 7-9 wins per year starting in 2018, and be competitive in every game. OU no longer gets to take a week off when they play us. Getting to 7-9 wins will take us consistently getting to the strength and depth to take a 4th quarter lead to the finish line.
Five years from now I want to look at the rankings of the Division 1 programs and instead of the bottom 10 every year, we are in the top 25-35, or better.

I do not see tOSU as his next job even if he's from there. That is next level of stress and dealing with a lot of extra BS. He seems like a guy who just loves a challenge but BS is not his thing. He's got more of a down to earth small town plumber feel to him than a Big time CEO.
He is a good guy and very good football coach. Toledo could be a great feeder system for ISU. Change the staff without really changing the "PLAN"!
An Ohio guy would always be interested in The OSU. He is well respected in the High Schools because of the "small town plumber feel to him". Everyone would be pulling for him to be successful. He would recruit very well and be in the hunt for Big 10 and Titles every year. Just my opinion.
7-9 wins a year? Some of you are nuts. I'm thinking he turns it around and we are on the verge of a bowl game almost every year, but 7-9 wins a year has never happened and in the landscape of college football these days it would be extremely difficult to turn into that type of program.

In year 5 I would like to see the program at least where McCarney had it 2000-2005. Yes, McCarney underachieved, especially 2004-2006, ESPECIALLY 2005, but we made bowl games in 5 of 6 years in that stretch and was the exact expectation most of you want to hold Campbell to (6-7 wins). Bonus points if he can get us an 8+ win season.
My take on when Campbell leaves - obviously he really wants the OSU job - virtually any Ohioan would. Part of me thinks Campbell holds out for OSU, but the other part of me questions whether ISU is a high enough stepping stone for OSU. I guess what I'm trying to say is as much as he likes it in Ames, Campbell probably isn't going to finish his career here, and as long as he's moving the program in the right direction I'm not going to worry about it.

I agree one hundred percent cytwins...Campbell will either be fired or coaching somewhere else within the next 4 years....ISU football has always been a stepping stone program and always will......I have seen this debacle since my first cyclone game back in October 1962......
The only thing that changes in Ames is the coaches.

Yep just need to make a strong hire after Campbell assuming he leaves us in a better spot
Not saying he is - I was just using what Snyder did as an example. We can hope, can't we?
