Dumb ass

Looking back, one my personal favorite things about Campbell is the UNI loss. I thought I was going lose my f*cking mind. "This guy comes here and has ONE JOB AND MONTHS TO PREPARE to beat the purple hawks AND HE CAN'T EVEN DO THAT!!!" I was so p*ssed. He got me good, that rascal!

Setting the bar low, based on ISU football history, but pushing for a slight upsurge.

From 2017-2000:

• Regular season (48 games): 25-23 (2 seasons above .500, including postseason)
• Big 12 (36 games): 15-21, at least one upper-division finish/winning league record (most recent instance of that was ’05, when B12 was divisional).
• Postseason: 2.5 bowl appearances, 1 of them a step up relative to postseason history.

In retrospect, I was being cautious, and boy did I underestimate. Campbell cleared my bar comfortably, then did somerault back over it.

Comparing my Projection vs. Actual. (I think my math is accurate):

Regular season
Expectation ca. ’17: 25-23 (2 seasons above .500, including postseason)
Actual: 30-17 (All 4 seasons above .500, including postseason)

Big 12
Expectation ’17: 15-21, at least one upper-division finish/winning league record
Actual: 24-12, 4 upper-division finish/above-.500 , one 1st-place finish.

Postseason
Expectation ’17: 2.5 bowl appearances, 1 of them a step up relative to postseason history.
Actual: 4 (at least 2, probably 3, were “steps up,” Alamo, Camping World, Fiesta).

This seems reasonable and realistic. Actually we shouldn't expect less then this.
