I like Cade's game. He's not the most talented player, but he will give it 100% every moment on the floor. Great team player and the type of player ISU fans enjoy supporting.
What I imagine he brings in practice is scholrship worthy after showing he can play a few minutes here and there as needed.

100%. AND, the type of guy that "for free" was likely working as hard or harder than many at workouts, etc.

Not exactly sure.
Going to Vegas instead of Hawaii probably saved enough to add scholarships even with the 10% cut.

I know some JUCOs let employees kids attend for free so not sure if ISU is similar and Tamin is a free scholly or not.

The best part of this story is the hard work that this young man put in was rewarded. Just wow. Cade, thank you for being a Cyclone and repping the brand that is Iowa State Cyclone Men's Basketball program. By the way congratulations for your basketball scholarship. You deserve it. I have a feeling that Cade's best work is done in practice. I have heard TJ laud Cade's presence in practice.

Honestly, he did not look like a walk-on last year. Usually walk-ons are kind of a liability with the ball, can't defend at this level, undersized for their position. Kelderman handled the ball well, defended OK, hit a few shots. He's not a playmaker by any means, but a deep bench backup? Sure.

Who would you rather have on scholarship coming into their junior year?
Kelderman who is a 6-1, 180lb kid from Waukee, IA that's been going against Tamin Lipsey, Keshon Gilbert, and Curtis Jones for the last two years?
Or
A 6-1, 180lb kid from Clinton, IA that's been at a Division 2 JuCo for the last two years shooting 40+% from 3-point land?

Bryan Peterson

Congrats go to Cade. He has proved that he can play and contribute, and I hope he picks up a nice head coaching gig in a couple decades.

Good day!
