This is the worst I've seen an Iowa State starter play over this long of stretch. The fact that Burton is playing over 30 minutes while consistently shooting under 20% is ludicrous and it scares me that Prohm is too afraid to take Burton out of the game for any meaningful length of time when he's playing that way

Calm down. Burton is a star who's a bit of a head case. We'll get games like Wednesday and games like tonight for the rest of his time here. I'm more focused on how many recruiting misses Prohm has had in just the two classes he's brought in so far. No Holden, Carter, and barely any Young tonight. And obviously the back court is crowded, but jakolby Long is doing nothing for us outside of practice

Prohm had to play Burton...Brodziansky was killing us, and Young tried and failed. Burton had a bad game, but Prohm had no option but to keep him in.

Agree he had no option but to me the fact that they weren't comfortable enough to give Holden or Carter anything more than a grand total of 0 minutes shows how poor the big man recruiting has been the past couple seasons.

This is biggest concern for me. Luckily next year we have Wigginton and Lewis, but they are gonna obviously need help.

And Burton did such a great job stopping Brodziansky, didn't he? You don't think Young, Holden, or Bowie could have done just as good of a job?

Burton wasn't helping us on EITHER end of the floor. I hope we find out he was really sick or something because that's how he looked.

Young tried for a few minutes, and he got owned. Bowie maybe, but he was in foul trouble so it probably was not a good idea. Finally, LOL, Holden?

Holden and Young both have generally slow feet, and it looks slower when they're trying to guard Big 12 bigs.

Burton wasn't good but I can't recall the last time ISU had a big that could muscle up the way you need to vs. TCU's type of big...McKay maybe but he was more active and present but not great one on one.

I didn't get to see the game on T.V. but heard on radio. TCU getting 50+ points in the paint says it all. Why doesn't this team try switching to zone if we are getting hammered in the paint and smoked on the boards? Why not Babb, Burton, and Young defending the paint and rim in a zone?

Unfortunately, you are right. Just stinks that ISU doesn't have anyone to defend the post. Really sucks, but this team is only going to succeed by making outside shots and causing turnovers. Prohm really needed to get a grand transfer big, and it didn't work out.

We had so many turnovers that got booted around and we ended up losing. Sometimes the ball just doesn't bounce your way. I liked the effort out of everyone other than Burton tonight.
