The lovely and talented MrsPhaedrus is a pilot. Perhaps she might chime in on this topic, once she gets up this morning.

Myself, I've been in a number of ground and air incidents with aircraft. I think you'd be surprised how often no-one gets hurt.

BTW - MrsPhaedrus is the best pilot I know. She is good, because she realizes her limitations and never attempts to fly outside her own skillset. That, and she takes great pride in making perfect landings.

PILOT WAS IOWA NATIVE

According to www.kma960.com the pilot is a native of Shenandoah, IA. When I heard the news this morning, I just about threw up. I used to fly the regional jets for Continental and have a lot of friends who still do. The news was reporting it was a jet, but it was a turboprop operated by Colgan Airlines flying for Continental. God Bless all of them.

PP only. She flies C150s, 172s, Piper 140s, and Cubs.

She also owns an aviation museum. Well, at least the beginning of one....
