Booking Group Airlines Tickets

Anybody have any suggestions on finding and locating airfare for a group of 16 international flight. I have checked with a couple of airlines but the price they are quoting with the "group" discount is higher than I can buy them on orbitz or expedia.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Best bet is finding a travel agent in my limited experience.

Do not go with Orbitz. THey screwed us over twice on Sunday AND wouldn't even take VISA.

Local travel agencies are probably your best bet, to be honest.

Otherwise, I'd try going directly to the airlines. Never ever book through Orbitz or Travelocity of any of those if you can help it. Directly to the airlines will usually yield you the best fare anyway. Most airlines guarantee it.

Also, if you can be flexible in your travel by a day or two, you can often save money. My ticket to CO Springs earlier this year was less than 200 bucks on Saturday, but was 700 on Sunday and over 1000 on Monday.

edit: also, realize that if you tried to book 16 individual tickets via Orbitz or whatever, it's highly unlikely you'd get them at the same rate you see for 1.

Sometimes Virgin Atlantic or an American carrier may be better than say Polaski Airlines. Some of the small countries fly older planes. Another trick is to fly one airline into London and then switch to another airline which has more choices. Yuck on British Airlines.
