I saw a tweet from a Tennessee fan today saying how it's weird how Big 12 fans are so cultish and defensive of other schools in their conference... "I would never root for Florida", they said.
The audacity from the "SEC chant" conference lol.

I think that's an oversimplification on their part. There have been coaches, players and teams over time in the Big 12 that I would never have cheered for, and for a multitude of reasons.

In the current era, Kansas State is one of those teams.

Houston is a program that I respect and enjoy watching.

Even if it were that simple, given the shenanigans pulled by the Big Ten and the SEC, I'm not sure how it would be surprising to anyone.

I could never like him when he was at OU but Sampson is my second favorite coach in the league now. Nothing but respect.
I hope they curb stomp Florida and Jim Nance leads the SEC chant the last possession.

Is Nance there or has he left for the Masters?

I liked KS when he was at OU because Tim Floyd talked him up so much...very good friends. I respected that...

So if our coach was a scumbag in the past you wouldn’t care because there ‘are no rules anymore’?
If TJ or staff got dinged for making too many phone calls during a recruiting period I would not give a F. That doesn’t make someone a scumbag.

This goes back to a thread yesterday on how people white knight our athletic programs. We have plenty of dirt just wasn’t enough to get caught.

That's his kid. His wife is like 25 years younger than he is.
Ah, I didn't hear any of that, just saw it on tv while I was walking through the living room.

Scumbag? Do you know the guy?
He's referring to Kelvin's past. He's been fired multiple times for recruiting violations. He was/is one violation away from a permanent ban. He has seemed to be clean since he took the Houston job.

That Tennessee fan is pulling from a really small pool to make his judgement. I saw plenty of posts from OU and Texas fans who used to ***** about anyone in the SEC and how they were overrated, all of a sudden became the biggest Bama fans when they got left out of the CFP. And I saw plenty from them this basketball season cheering on all the SEC. And my pool is pretty small.

I live in a pretty heavy Big 10 area. If there is a conference I'd say is the most cultish, it would be the Big 10. Even with that though, I don't see any Michigan Fans I know ever cheering for Ohio State or vice versa.

Do you know what the violations were for?

Houston is likable as much as I want to hate them since they have been back and forth with us. Now Florida, man do they complain especially that Hough dude.
I can't hate Houston because their style like ours is tough and physical, with in your face defense.

I also can't hate them 'cause growing up, Phi Slama Jama was by far my favorite college team. I mean, those guys were the coolest if you were of a certain age or just a Houston fan to begin with.

While lots of fans loved the NC State upset that year and the whole storyline behind it, I absolutely hated it. I still can't believe that talented Houston team lost that game.
