Jay Bilas and Jay Williams make me wonder if any other announcers who were great players have been at Hilton? Or as NBA scouts?

Or maybe a great recruit. I thought I had the winner, "Julius Irving," but he was recruited before Hilton was built. Thinking about that makes me feel very old.

Gary Thompson. Beat Wilt Chamberlain (albeit in State Gym), but Thompson has been at Hilton tons of times.

he wasnt an impact college player iirc tho. maybe it was the restricted minutes that got me unsure.

His injury was the reason ISU beat them in the Big 12 Tourney semifinals in 2014.

Ivan Chiriaev

He had to have at least stepped on the court during a recruiting visit before declaring for the NBA Draft because "The NBA wants Ivan Chiriaev. The NBA needs Ivan Chiriaev."

Embiid's performance at Hilton was scary dominant. His footwork and agility that night was something I had never seen before from a player his size. Would've been the number one pick that year had he stayed healthy.

Agree. That was a hyped game, and Embiid's defense completely shut us down. Georges couldn't do anything in the lane. Embiid was so far ahead of everyone on the court.

Testifying
I was trying to think if Michael Beasley's team played here but they didn't.

Jarrod Uthoff. For one half.

Going back to watch that game, knowing we had the epic comeback makes it so you can actually appreciate how damn good (and frustrating at the time) Uthoff was that half.

Mind boggling they didn't keep feeding him the rock the 2nd half. That's Fran logic for ya.
