I did. After the second to last interception, when we ran the ball and punted again, I thought "this is it ! Another heartbreaking loss".

I'm so proud of the team - they found a way to win. I don't care if people say we're lucky. Remember the old saying" Fortis Fortuna Juvat - Fortune Favors the Brave !"

Before the punt, my wife said "we're going to get this blocked". I said confidently, "he's one of the best punters in the nation and has never had a kick blocked before!". Then I remembered that Mahoney had never missed an xp before KSU and immediately felt nauseous.

Is this the lowest point total Nebraska has scored against us in Lincoln?

Hats off to JT and Jeremy for not committing a turnover. Has we ever committed no turnovers before in Lincoln?:notworthy:

The NE fans in the crowd kept calling for Cody Green but Bo was Bo and we saw no green.

The NE fieldgoal kicker is great. To think, he never has a shot at one is unbelievable. He can kick them from 60 yards out and yet he was irrelevant.:cute:

To see NE top two running backs fumble twice each was a sight for sore eyes in Lincoln.

Bo will have them run 50 laps in practice this week. He is disgusted, yet he said Lee did not play a bad game.

Maybe Lincoln will not mark up a sure fire win next time when clones come to town. This was payback for the drubbing last year in Ames.

My favorite turnover was Nate Frere taking the ball away out of the pile.

We gave up fewer points than TT did the week before.:mask:

Lincoln will be lucky to win seven games and maybe the Snooze Bowl at this point.

The silence in Memorial Stadium weas deafening for at least two quarters. The $1500 season seats on the west raised section were a cold spot to be on Saturday for Husker fans.:wideeyed:

The pandemonium at end of game on the visitor's field made for some nice pictures.:policeman::laugh::jiggy::radar::v_SPIN::wacko:

Heard a fan yell Go Clones as we exited - that was a special yell in Lincoln stadium. The NE fans just rundled away in disbelief. 8-0 in turnover margin was a record for them. ISU had a game in 1972 where we had 8 takewaways but we also lost the ball. There was only one other game in sixties where Lincoln had 8 turnovers, so now ISU has 2 of the 3 eight turnover games.:th_wink:

I'll admit...once NU got the ball back with two minutes to go I thought the game was all but over. When Jesse Smith picked that pass off I literally feel to the floor like I'd just won the lottery...pounding the floor, I really didn't even know how to handle it.

This precisely describes me feelings and reaction to that situation.

I enjoyed hearing "ISU" chants over my television. For some reason, we were more enthused at the end of the game.

Let's be honest...there wasn't a Iowa State fan over age 3 that wasn't expecting us to lose.

I was telling all of my Nebraska friends that we would somehow find a way to lose this game. When we finally pulled it off, I just couldn't believe it.

Honestly, I felt like we could do no wrong in this game. It was the only time in the last few years that I didn't feel like we'd blow it at the end. The mind set of the team and the fans are definitely changing.

like a lot of you, i was almost certain that disappointment was about to set in, and when Jesse picked off that pass - i was stunned silent for at least 2 minutes. my wife was looking at me like I had just lost my last bit of sanity.

Oh, most certainly.

And I think the game was lost on that bomb that ended up in a fumble into the endzone. Huge play in the game.

Huskers had 8 turnovers and was it 4 that came inside the 20? Crazy.

I was sitting next a NU fan in BWs here in Indiana. Real cool guy. He had season tickets there for 22 years before giving it all up to live a retired life on the road in his RV. Pretty cool. However, with like 4 minutes left when we had the ball, he was like, this game is over! I was like... just wait, we're Iowa State, we can still lose this...

How many of you thought ISU was going to find a way to lose the Nebraska game?
Not I. On the oher hand, I thought that Nebraska might actually manage to get their act together and score a touchdown...which really isn't the same thing. After seeing what they did at Missouri, I wasn't even sure that we'd cover the spread until the fourth quarter.

BTW, just to be clear--"Nebraska getting their act together" (as in, not constantly dropping passes, etc) is not the same thing as "ISU finding a way to lose".

Some of you guys need to lose this loser mentality. Seriously.

When we failed to score after the 6th TO (fumble recovery on the NU 28 or so - James Smith personal foul, blocked FG) I just KNEW we were going to lose. This has to be the first game I can ever remember that an ISU team in any sport got every single break (aside from a sure fumble recovery before NU's TD).

I agree, and if we finish off the season well and win a bowl game "please Lord" I think it will change some minds. It would definitely be a Cinderella story and note worthy for the media.

How many of you thought ISU was going to find a way to lose the Nebraska game? The whole 4th qtr I was getting ready to get my heart stomped on once again. What a game out of the Clones, I still cannot believe they won that. That game shows we maybe entering a new era of Cyclone FB.

In the 4th Q, I'll admit that I had the thought -- "If we lose this, at least it will be over." Having a 10-10 tie and then dropping the game in OT would have been more painful than just losing 10-9 (IMHO).

Well, I was at the game and refused to watch when Nebraska got the ball back with 2:00 min to play. I figured the crowd noise was going to be hard enough to handle. To my surprise it never came but the grunts and groan's from nebby fans were possible the greatest sound my ears have ever herd....Then my little brother pulled me up and told my about Smith's INT!!!

sidenote: we had really classy Husker fans around us and made for a great road trip.

Hey, the Play review process worked like a charm - they even overturnbed one on field call to give the ball to us. That is rare that reviewed plays are overturned in Memorial Stadium.

I get a kick out of Play Review whereby the Big 12 will not let a play be shown over and over on the Redotron while the officials were looking at the camera shots. That helped us.

The super long and horrific numbe of Fox commercials also doused the enthusiam of the Red crowd. They were humbled by games end.

A couple of fans said they deserved to win the game. I asked them which turnover did they need back?

Wonder if the radio shows today will be talking about the weekend games?

It was crazy. My wife is second guessing why she married me. It's good to know there are others who feel and act the same way.

I honestly did not sit after we recovered our first fumble. I watched the whole game standing.

When they interviewed CPR at the beginning of the game and he said that AA and A Rob were out, I texted my buddy and told him we are going to need to be +7 in the turnover category, lol. I was wrong, we needed 8.

The victory formation in F' ing Memorial Stadium was the sweetest play I have ever seen.

Not gonna lie, it got a little misty at my house.

I love these guys, the sky is the limit!

no doubt about it i thought we were gonna lose 10-9 thanks to the kicking game again being horrid. After the blocked field goal and as he was running it back i just said to my friend "and there it is"....then he was tackled and we somehow stopped them. Awesome game clones! i thought we could make it close but without arnaud or Arob i didnt think wed have a snowballs chance in hell in winning

My mom flew in Saturday to visit for the week and when we were eating breakfast, we were talking about how my stepdad screams and freaks out about anything while watching Viking games, while I'm quiet and reserved watching ISU games.

Flash forward to halftime. Quiet and subdued, where I said "no way nine points is going to win this game."

Nebraskas second to last possession where Raven (I think) got the sack, I whooped a little. I said that's the loudest she'd ever hear me.

ISUs last possession, I say we need at least a field goal so they have to score a touchdown to win. We punt. I tell my mom its over. Fate made us miss that xp so we would lose last second because the god hates me and iowa state.

Jesse gets that pick and I am screaming and jumping throughout the house singing the iowa state fight song. The dog pees on the carpet.

Count me in on the group not sure if we'd win just downing the ball, ESPECIALLY after Suh's penalty, which I was sure was going to be against us.

In fact, I was waiting after it was over for the refs to somehow reverse a call and give Nebraska a touchdown.
