Automatic qualification
1. The top two teams in the final BCS Standings shall play in the National Championship Game.

2. The champions of the Atlantic Coast, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, and Southeastern conferences will have automatic berths in one of the participating bowls through the 2013 regular season.

3. The champion of Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, or the Western Athletic Conference will earn an automatic berth in a BCS bowl game if either:

A. Such team is ranked in the top 12 of the final BCS Standings, or,
B. Such team is ranked in the top 16 of the final BCS Standings and its ranking in the final BCS Standings is higher than that of a champion of a conference that has an annual automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls.

No more than one such team from Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, and the Western Athletic Conference shall earn an automatic berth in any year. (Note: a second team may be eligible for at-large eligibility as noted below.) If two or more teams from those conferences satisfy the provisions for an automatic berth, then the team with the highest finish in the final BCS Standings will receive the automatic berth, and the remaining team or teams will be considered for at-large selection if it meets the criteria.

Please re-read your own post...with an emphasis on the VERY BIG WORD. :spinny:

No, Boise would NOT get in over K-State. The Fighting Snyders have not been to a BCS game in years, while Boise's been going much more frequently and has a smaller fan base. Not obligated to take for an at-large just because of a higher BCS ranking.

So tcu has to have help to go up two spots, beating unlv isn't going to make them jump two teams. Are there two teams playing today that would fall behind them with a loss?

Oh good grief. :twitcy: Boise and TCU are both in the same conference. TCU beat Boise and TCU will win the conference. Boise is OUT no matter what.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Boise is not going to a BCS game...won't happen.

more reasons that the BCS is a joke if Michigan gets in over 6th ranked Boise St.??

would look bad if a team ranked that high gets left out...

In order for a team from a NON AQ conference to get into the BCS, they have to BE A CONFERENCE CHAMPION. Are you drunk?! Or just messing with us?

Big 10 loser could fall behind TCU. Maybe Georgia, or Oklahoma, but I don't see them jumping 2 spots.

Either Big Ten team could definitely fall a handful of spots. an OU loss might, MIGHT drop them from 10 to 15 or so, but it seems fairly unlikely.

I don't know about you, but I would rather see Michigan in a BCS bowl over Boise St who wont even win the Mountain West.

Georgia, and the loser of the Big 10 championship could both potentially drop below TCU and push them up to #16, and Michigan to #14; thus making them both eligible.
