My younger sister is thinking about trying to walk on to the ISU team and she called asking if there are in batting cages in Ames. I have no idea so I thought I would ask here.

Are there any Grand Slam like complexes? Thanks

There are cages behind Old George's Pizza on Duff, although I'm not sure if they are still open. It's been a long time since I've been there.

Found this online, but not familiar with it. The weird part is that when I try to go to the website, I get a popup that says the site will harm my computer. Never received that message since I got the Mac... [shrug]

The ones on Duff are still open, but I can't speak to their quality as I haven't tried them. And for reference, Old George's has moved across town, so the cages are actually behind the old Old George's.

Ames is in serious need of some good batting cages. The only one I am aware of are the ones on Duff and they SUCK! Ames just needs someone to come in and put up a good recreation area with batting cages, driving ranges and mini-golf, something like West Grand Golf in West Des Moines (except with batting cages). You would think in a college town a place like that would do well.
