I know most people hate, hate, hate disco, but the Bee Gees could be pretty solid. "More Than a Woman" and "Night Fever" are both good songs.

Speaking of disco, there's something about this song that makes me unable to shut it off once it starts.

Man, highlights for me at this point are Electric Blue, She's A Beauty, Overkill and Mexican Radio. Those are all so good they should have been mine!

I'll add The Safety Dance to the list, because if you don't dance, then, etc., etc., etc.

The best of all might be 12 Gauge - Dunkie Butt. Takes me right back to Iowa Lakes everytime I hear it.

Colin Hay, the lead singer, did an acoustic version sometime in the 00s that is also really good!
This.Look for an album on iTunes called 80s hits stripped. It's redos of 80s songs by he original artists.

Ooh. Anything by Rick Astley. I loved him long before Rick Rolling.

Randomly happened across this last night: Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" went to #1 in the U.S. exactly 25 years ago yesterday (3/12/88). For those of us who remember him before Rick-rolling, that outta make you feel pretty damned old.

The only thing making me feel better is that I was in grade school at the time. :skeptical:

This is one of the greatest song that I have heard in my long life. It also fits the description of this thread. I loved this song long before YouTube and didn't know if it was on, found out it was and the video is just as good as the song. You have to understand the words to really get a kick out of this song, but trust me, it is amazingly funny. Jamaican, and off the radar for the most part, this is the only song that I heard by this group but am going to check them out on YouTube now that I know they are on. Has anyone put "One Shining Moment" forth yet? That song is truly awful, but it's truly awesome around the first week of April or so.
