Assuming the Big XII implodes, losing the Big XII tournament in KC will be a tragedy

10 years ago, they let Iowa State, and 7 other teams live.

if it’s as hopeless as all of these people are saying, and we have no options other than taking a 20 million dollar tv pay cut, imagine where we’d have been 10 years ago.

I have a lot of ut alum and fan friends They’re delusional. But Iowa State wouldn’t have any of the nice things they’ve had, if ut didn’t decide to let espn stay in the game with a network.
d'accord!

Doesn't make what UT, OU ESPN and the SEC did any less disgusting though.

That being said, I think Iowa State will land on their feet running forward!

Let's Go State!

No it really really sucks. But it doesn’t change the fact that if they would have gone with the pac 10 years ago, took both Oklahoma schools, and whomever else. we would most definitely be in at the very best mwc.

at least there’s some semblance of success there last decade in multiple sports

Do you think the R8 can convince the 4 newbies to have it in KC still?

I don't know why they wouldn't. KC is easy to into I believe and Its centrally located. It also showcases the league the best by a filled arena.

I'm not trying to say I am an expert but it seems to make sense to me, just like I think Texas will hold any football CCG going forward.

With all the football talk I'm extremely excited for basketball. This has a chance to be the premiere basketball conference in the country.
The Big 12 was already the premiere conference. Now it gets better. Suck it ESPN.

I feel like losing Texas and Oklahoma is a huge net gain for basketball. Both of those schools play in morgues with a pathetic fanbase.

You add Cinncy and BYU who are perennial tournament teams with rabid fanbases along with a Top 10 program. I wouldn't sleep on UCF either, they were in the tourney a couple years ago.

Edit..I didn't realize Malzhan was their football coach either. If he sticks around there he could really turn them into a powerhouse with the jump up to the Big 12.
