Are there 5 wins left on the schedule?

Yes, realisticly every game is winnable. However, we all know, as experienced Cyclone fans, that won't happen. This team as improved greatly from week 1 to week 3, but how much more can we improve?

Is Baylor a possibility? We beat them at home 2 years ago, but their defense wasn't nearly as good as it is today. OU...probably not. Texas has looked like warmed over dog crap so far this year and can't even get a coin toss right.

Here's what I'm thinking...

Likely Wins:
Toledo
@ KU
Texas Tech

Possible Wins:
@ Texas
WVU at home (although Trickett is playing very well)
@ TCU

Can we get 2 of the 3 possbile wins and go bowling this year?

I don't know if I would call TT a likely win but we do seem to have their number at home for some reason

I don't want to be a debby downer, but I feel like it is still too early to call TTech a likely win. I hope we just keep improving week to week and let the chips fall where they may.

I watched part of the TCU game Saturday night. They absolutely destroyed Minnesota. That game is looking more difficult than what many thought.

I'm going to say we get four more wins: Kansas, Toledo, Tech, and an upset of either Baylor or Oklahoma at home. Only game I'm gonna pencil in as a loss right now is at Oklahoma State.

West Virginia
Texas
TCU
Okie State
Baylor

Have to get Toledo and Kansas. Have to get 2 of the 3 from Tech, WVU, Texas, then have to upset someone else.

I'd say KU and Toledo are high probability win % and beyond that we will be beating the odds. A lot depends on the individuals teams how their seasons play out, how much momentum they have, what the injury situations progress to be. Those games you list are going to be in the winnable range, yes, but I don't expect us to be favored in any of them. I do know that I we can't take many more injuries without it starting to really affect our chances. One game at a time - we'll have to wait and see.

They beat Central Arkansas by 7, UTEP by 4 and got smoked by Arkansas. Not exactly sending tremors through the world of college football.

Most likely path to 6 wins runs through Toledo, Kansas, Texas Tech, Texas, and West Virginia. Sweeping all of those (or dropping one and picking up a bigger upset) is very unlikely I think.

Still, the way the schedule is, we could be 2-6 and still not be entirely out of the running. That would require a win @ TCU last week of the season, though.

I have a nagging feeling that we'll end up 5-7 and kick ourselves for scheduling NDSU.

I love getting Toledo after two tough games. We've been tested quite well so far, and even if we play like crap the next two games, can get the players on a positive note by taking care of Toledo. Also keep the fans happy.

They did look good but TCU can usually be counted on for a couple of egg-layings each year - timing is critical.

If this team is 5-6 going to Fort Worth, they are going to play their hearts out and maybe it will be enough.

No I get that, and we have improved, but I just think Kingsbury is going to get that offense going and when that happens they will be tough.

we lets see, start with baylor since that is the next game and the score is 0-0 at this time. not worried about the next 8 games afterwards, just the next one. i remember beating baylor 2 yrs ago at home when we weren't supposed to have a chance

Pretty good assessment. It is probably going to take a very big upset somewhere (@TCU, @OSU, OU, Baylor) to get us there.
