I'm guessing you live near the Ames High band director and it's homecoming. One of our traditions, along with TPing all the senior football players' houses.

This sort of reminds me of when we TPed my high school for senior homecoming. A cop stopped by to talk to us. He was actually really cool about it and talked about the stuff he did to his high school for homecoming. While talking to the cop, 3 guys who graduated a couple years before drove by with a paintball gun and did a drive by shooting at us with the cop sitting there talking to us. Once they saw the cop they drove off quick and threw the paintball gun out their window. The cop turned on the lights and gunned after them. We were dying and it couldn't have happened to bigger tools!

My parents used to say I could sleep through a marching band coming through my room. This would have been a good test.

band raid! Loved doing that back in the day. Yeah I can see how its an inconvenience, but it's a bunch of kids doing something fun and for once not trying to be illegal or hurt anyone.

The ISU marching band director is one of my neighbors so the marching band comes around every year at Halloween to play in the street in front of his house. They all wear costumes and really get into it. It's awesome. The whole neighborhood turns out to watch. My daughter and all the other neighborhood kids just love it.

My senior year, my dad forgot about it and left his truck unlocked in the driveway. They had TPed the outside and the inside, including stuffing TP into his pipe which he kept above the driver-side visor. He didn't actually find that one until a few weeks later when he was wanting to smoke his pipe on a duck hunting trip. Props to the Ames High Cheerleaders who coordinated the TPing back in the day.

The band used to go trick-or-beering, now it is a little more non-alcoholic but really fun. The Fennlleys put out a whole spread for them, I know they go to Hoiberg's house as well.
