HBO real sports with gumble to gumble had a special about okie state and boone pickens. pretty neat stuff. talks about all the upgrades and money he is spending for them to win and win now. goes on to talk about michigan spending something like 214 mil for the big house and osu spending over 200 mil on the horseshoe. makes our 19 mil look pretty small.:sad:

Well, the construction cost of the stadium was only $7.6 Million in early '70s dollars, the press box cost $6.2 Million, so I can't imagine it's a whole lot more than that.

Nope, thats 214 in renovations alone, and according to the link below, that's now up to 226 mil. It also explains what they're going to do with all that money.

i just found it a little saddening that we are doing a 19 mil renovation this year, with the possibility of a 120 mil? in a few years. (not sure if those #s are correct) but we don't know for sure if we can even afford to do this. these other schools projects dwarf ours by monetary comparison, and they have no problem, granted okie state is a unique situation. i hope we can pull ours off, as i feel it is the only way we get to the next stage of the program.
