We do dumb things. Matts unset feet threes, Naders unforced turnovers and damned Eddie Hightower level of bs calls.... We're damned close it only takes a couple weekends of it getting together to play well.

All we need are good match-ups and for the ball to bounce our way more often than not, and we have a shot at a Sweet 16, IMO, but we have just as good a chance at being a 5 seed and being upset by a 12.

Well one consolation is that Virginia has been praised for its strength in those areas and given favorable seeds the last few years. I don't think they've made the Final Four, have they?
Wisconsin wasn't particularly good on defense last year, they were just great offensively. That said, being not particularly good defensively is still much better than we are right now.
I was purely picking out another team that didn't advance with those attributes, so is their coach underachieving? Kentucky and Wisconsin also each had more depth and 2-3 NBA players each on their rosters. I think we have good players, don't get me wrong, but I'm guessing most if not all will play DLeague or overseas.
I could be wrong, but what's team had the worst defensive efficieny to make it to the final 4. Was thinking it was in the 70s. We are in the 100s. Teams that make the final 4 are top 50 in defensive efficiency most of the time.
VCU in 2011 started the tournament in the 100's in defensive efficiency, ended the year at 84. Probably not the worst all time, but worst recent one that comes to mind.
ISU will go 1-1 in the Big 12 Tourney, and 1-1 in the NCAA Tourney. The recipe to beat ISU is pretty easy, run with them, play physical, and play 8-10 players to keep everyone fresh, and the game will fall into your lap in the final minutes.
