If we can’t get a coach’s son to commit to ISU, is our men’s basketball program just going to decline to the point of not being competitive?
What? If AJ chooses to go elsewhere it’s not going to be because our program is “declining”, he’d go because it’d be a to a blue blood like Duke. Our program is back on the rise. How quickly we rise will be determined by a multitude of factors.

Also, AJ is likely not going elsewhere. These conversations will continue to happen though until he makes his decision on coming back to school.

Way up there
Tons? How do you figure? Big12 is on every week too. For the most part, we and Big12 games were on TV just as much as Duke. Duke was on ACC network and maybe network channels for high profile games plus those w/NCar , but I thought we were on just as much. (of course many on ESPN+).
Things like social media matter, AJ's name getting run by the Duke social media accounts yesterday got his name seen by more people in one day than his entire UNI career. Look at something like Instagram, Duke bball has 1.3 million follows, UNI has 17k...hell ISU only has 50k.

Depends how much he would play. Nothing is better for the brand than being a star at Duke. A lot of Duke starters have been overdrafted too.

But if he’s wanting to be the guy, it’s an easy choice. IB likely is playing a 5th year had he gone to Duke.

If he decides to go elsewhere it’s because someone wrote a fat check.

Oh...it's dropped to "likely not" going elsewhere now. Just ready for it to be over and decided quite frankly.

After seeing the Pack deal, my AJ to ISU confidence meter is spiking in the wrong direction. Yikes!

Duke has inquired.

Link discussing Duke and AJ. Plus next year Duke guard discussion.

Duke is on the Champions Classic at the start of the season and in every major non-conference matchup against other bluebloods. tThe tons of love they get from ESPN is unreal. Not even close.
Fudge Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky...Uhm...Hhm...

Am I missin' anybody?

I'd be surprised if Duke was factor. AJ wants to play, and not worry about watching some 5 star kid take his minutes.

Look at all the girls that ride the bench at UConn, most of their team could start at any other school.

I don’t think that is what is going to lead us down the road of not being competitive.
