What's the connection between tj and kyle?
They're both Wisconsin guys that came up through the assistant ranks at about the same time when Kyle was a UNI and Marquette and TJ was at Iowa State the first time. Kyle also tried to hire TJ when he was Head Coach at Lewis, TJ took the job at Chipola in Florida instead.

I’m glad Prohm did not hire Green. Prohm ruined everything he touched. I’m glad Green wasn’t part of that and was available for TJ who has some coaching acumen of his own.

Assuming Prohm is fired the same offseason as he was with Kyle Green on staff and TJ was hired to replace him, I see no reason TJ would not have retained him. He retained D-Rob, after all. Fred retained TJ when he came to Ames. Prohm retained TJ before he left. Some staff continuity isn't unusual. I think we've all seen what an asset Green is, and keeping AJ around would have been a priority for a quicker rebuild.

Green wouldn't have made any difference for Prohm. Prohm was already getting better recruits than him and was not doing much with a bunch of NBA talent.

Green would have just been a good shooter running around out there without a purpose chucking up shots.

if fred never left for the bulls then prohm would have never been hired and then prohm would have never hired kane and then after that prohm would have never went back to back losing seasons which in turned resulted in him getting fired and then that would have prevented tj from being hired and in turn hiring kyle green as an assistant which would have resulted in us not getting aj green.

wow
I blame this all on the restaurant that created the Hoiburger.

A monumental misstep by Steve to not hire Kyle and get 4 years of AJ. Especially considering Kyle is a very good assistant with strong Midwest ties. One player of that caliber can have a major impact in college basketball. AJ next to Tyrese in 2019-2020 might of been good enough to keep CSP's head above water for a couple more years...
It's very hard to be a head coach with an assistant that far surpasses you.

Prohm would have run out of timeouts every game. Green for three and Hilton goes wild! Aaaand another Prohm timeout to kill the rally.

So if Johnny never retired then Tim would have never been hired and if Tim would have never left for the bulls then LE would have never been hired hence Wayne Morgan would have never been hired as a recruiter and if LE wouldn't have been caught then Wayne would have never been head coach thus Cyclonefanatic would not exist because "fireWayneMorgan.com" would have never been started then GMAC would have never had a chance to torpedo ISU so Fred would have never been hired to save us only to leave for the bulls which means Steve would have never been hired which means obviously TJ would have been hired right out of high school.

AJ has been a known commodity to the NBA for years. He went through the draft process his sophomore year. He doesn't need the exposure to get his name out there. If he comes back it'll be to show that he can do what he did at UNI at a higher level. ISU plays in the best conference in America and he will be "the guy" rather at Duke he'd likely be "a guy".
Yea this is what UNI fans struggle with. This is the 2nd time AJG has worked out for NBA teams and gone thru the process.

Playing at Duke or ISU next season makes no difference really IMO. NBA scouts and GM's know exactly what and who AJG is..My feeling is they want to see what he can do consistently vs higher level competition for a season and if his game will still translate as well to just P6 high level competition.

Probably more so his defense..

He's coming to Iowa State. Stopped by Baskin Robins today and they seemed to know what's going on with AJ. Also heard Ferris is quite ill ...
