We have a memory foam mattress and my wife was looking at adding a power adjustable base. Anyone have one of these? Do you like it or do you even use it? She's thinking it would be nice to watch TV and give a slight rise to the head and feet while sleeping.

Also, any feedback on how that affects the life of foam mattresses?

Following. We're looking at the same, but for different reasons. My wife has reflux to the point of possibly needing surgery to mitigate. Elevated upper body supposedly helps a lot during sleep.

Does it matter what kind of mattress you use on an adjustable base? I'm just starting to look into it

Don't have memory foam, but have had an adjustable base for years. There's a zero gravity setting on ours that raises the head and feet. I don't toss and turn much at all.

Acid reflux is gone and are back pain gone. When I sleep on a flat mattress I realize how much pressure goes to the middle of my back. I have to prop myself up with a pillow fort sleep

Our mattress says to lay it flat every day to reduce wear

I'll never go flat base again

We have had a split king for close to 5 years, I haven't slept flat ever since. Ours isn't super fancy, it has 2 memory buttons which was well worth it.

Our mattresses are temperpedics and have not noticed any wear to them and we don't put them flat all that often.

When we travel somewhere we have had to prop up the mattress with pillows to mimic what ours does.

I agree with @KnappShack I'll never do a flat base again

If she's looking at surgery I'm guessing she's already tried this, but sleeping on my side really helped me and is a common "first try" for a non-medical fix

We had a split king (hybrid mattress) for 2 years with our power adjustable bed. We didn’t like the split part, so over a year ago we got rid of the 2 single beds and bought a king size Tempurpedic. We use the same power adjustable frame (it can be used as a split king or as one). We won’t go back to the usual flat bed frame.

Most memory foam say they're good on any base, minus of course a split rising base.

It takes specific types of beds, memory foam is one, inner coil where they are individually wrapped coils and a few others can be used. Definitely not all mattresses work. Got the base last month but have been waiting over 2 months for the mattress, noticed a huge difference trying out the leg lift when at a bed store and as someone with constant hip problems I was sold instantly on getting the base.
