Seriously? You're talking about 15 years ago, what's the difference?

Actually, a pretty big difference. Your coach has been at Iowa for 14 of those 15. So to use 15 is basically saying "since Kirk Ferentz has been the coach at Iowa....". That's relevant...that's the current coach being talked about. The current coach at Iowa as a losing record against ISU and has been there since forever at this point. Really the only thing that matters is the teams playing this year...Iowa's is better. What I can't understand is why Iowa fans can never admit that ISU wins...it's always some bs excuse.

Do you really want to discuss the present? Don't be such a tool. Both teams look like they have a chance to be decent this year. Both are in conferences that fit their philosophies for success. Rhoads has a team that finally has the WR talent and QB talent on O and the DB/cover LB talent to compete in the Big XII. No one in the Big XII has a team with the physicality of Iowa so why build that way? Iowa finally has the OL and DL talent to win the line of scrimmage in the B1G, besides NW and Ohio St nobody really has a viable wide open passing attack...why build that way? ISU is built to try to beat West Virginia and Oklahoma St. Iowa is not. Iowa is built to try to beat Michigan St. and Wisconsin. ISU is not.

Iowa plays a lot more physical schedule in the B1G. It's true that MN tells us nothing about how good Iowa is. However don't try to **** on us and tell us its raining with the BS that you'd be better off with our schedule...Minnesota would be a tough matchup for you with the way they run the ball...your weakness. Purdue I give you but what about Kansas? Or West Virginia as bad they have looked at times? Purdue did have Notre Dame on the ropes, good for WVU to upset Ok St. Iowa would probably struggle with a lack of DB talent in most matchups in the Big XII.

Keep watching...both teams have a lot to play for this year. The schedules don't have as much impact as you think on Win Loss records this year. Both teams have a tough stretch coming up. Good luck.

What I don't understand is when ISU fans want to discuss the past they only want to talk about the years that were good to ISU.

I'm not sure why there would be any BS excuses. When ISU has beat Iowa they were outplayed and outcoached each time and the same when Iowa beats ISU.

I think Iowa is a much better team this year, but NOT a team that should make a bowl game. Their weak schedule makes them look like a good team, when in reality they are not. Next year they lose those 3 good linebackers and their "all-American tight end." Their recruiting has not been very good the last couple years, so I expect them to be pretty poor next year even with another crap schedule.

KF is 3-2 against Rhoads, wouldn't that be more relevant? So CPR has a losing record against Iowa. KF outscoring him 144-84 in the last 5 years. ISU was better last year, I'm not sure you could have found a Hawkeye that didn't admit that. JVB was full ****** all year long.

I think Iowa is the worst team ISU has played so far this year. Only reason we lost to them and beat Tulsa was because it was Iowa's Super Bowl. Tulsa would beat Iowa in Kinnick.

If you honestly believe this you are a bigger moron than I thought you were.

After years of hearing the exact same crap out of iowa fans mouth when ISU wins, you would think you could detect the dripping sarcasm/bs. I guess not.

I'm not understanding how fans think Iowa has an easy schedule.

Just glancing at it, you can see that it is not easy. These are teams likely to go to a bowl game on Iowa's schedule

Northern IL-may go undefeated
Michigan State-very tough
Ohio State-national title contender
Northwestern
Michigan
Wisconsin
Nebraska

Big12 may have some exciting pass heavy attacks but the Big10 clearly is more of a grind. Much better OL/DL players outside of Texas or maybe OU in Big 10.

Cmon Clark. Just because I said something we've heard from Hawk fans before doesn't make me a moron like them

have you really heard that ISU was the worst team on Iowa's schedule before? This sounds made up

Keep an eye on this site for up to date SOS calculations. Currently, Big Ten teams are lagging behind Big 12 teams in the SOS department. Big Ten teams might have some flashy records but they really haven't played anyone in the OOC. Only three Big Ten teams are in the Top 100 in SOS, Purdue, Indiana and Iowa. 8 Big 12 teams currently have Top 100 SOS.

ISU is currently at 42.
