3 years 91 million doesn’t sound like the worst thing. Keep playing. Keep producing top 1/3 of the league in your position. Then put your numbers up against similar qbs who got paid instead of you. Don’t think it will be close.

Not mad at Brock or 49ers.

Purdy can't play for 5 million this year and risk getting injured behind that questionable offensive line. Not when his performance the past 3 seasons has equaled or exceeded people making 10 times that.

Based on the current QB market, the 49ers have gotten roughly 125 million dollars worth of performance over the past three seasons for less than 3 million in actual cost. It's time for them to pay up. Purdy needs to dig in and holdout if necessary. Don't let them take advantage of his nice guy demeanor.

I don’t see Purdy accepting something like that. To be paid $10 million worse than Sam Darnold is a bit of a slap in the face. Something like 3/$120 or 4/$160 is the minimum for someone like Purdy, in my opinion.

I realize that Brock and the 49ers mutually want him to stay in SF but did his agent not at least test the waters to see what other teams might offer? Didn't hear a peep about any QB needy team trying to sign Purdy and even if the goal all along was to resign with the 49ers if the money was that far off why not put some pressure on the 49ers by bringing some other offers to the table?

I could be wrong, but I think it's because he's technically still under contract. Hard to sign with another team when you still have another year under your deal.

He still is under contract for this year. Typical to sign a new contract with a year left to prevent them from getting to free agency/franchise tag.

You're right. I don't know if his agent could try to get another team to approach the 49ers with a trade, but that's about the only way Purdy could try to get out of San Fran.

I'm worried if he holds out he might become the next Kaepernick. He deserves more but the league isn't going to pay him more than they have to.

Jerry Jones said he would sign him. Of course Dak is on the hook for a lot of money so I don't think it would happen but I can dream.

I mean you either think he's capable of winning Super Bowls or you don't. If Geno can get a $40M/yr extension tell me why Brock isn't worth at least $45-50M. If the 49ers think he isn't worth that then they should trade him, his value won't get much higher than it is right now.

Are we having a pool on his contract? I will guess Brock will get something like 4 years for $200-$210 million but his guaranteed money will be around $120-$125 million. This would be slightly better than Kirk Cousins and would allow his agent to claim over $50 million per year while keeping San Francisco only on the hook for $30-$35 million... It seems fair to both sides and sets Brock up for life changing money.

I think if this offer is real he just won’t sign and he’ll take an his talents to the open market in the offseason. 49ers will start to squirm
Actually the only advantage Brock has would be to hold out. If they can't reach an agreement he plays this season at his $5 million, gets franchise tagged the next year at $41 million and then possibly a second franchise tag in two years at I believe around $60 million. In that case he plays year to year and tops out around $105 million. Now, I make around $70k a year...so that is a lot of money...but he would be better off with a deal and the security.

Honestly, Brock needs to hold out to get the deal done this year. He's a great quarterback, but the team traded away virtually anyone with a pulse. It's fair to think that the team is going to struggle next year - even if Brock has a great year. He needs to cash in now so that's not hanging over him next offseason.
