I haven't heard anything about how many Kent State fans were in attendance. Anyone care to guess? Were they good winners? Any of them cocky?

Looked like about 50-75. Literally looked like parts of two or three rows. Section was mostly empty and mostly red.

Didn't meet anybody, couldn't tell you anything about them. Haven't seen anybody over here other than the one guy who's posting today and seems pretty decent.

I ran into one on the concourse, a middle-aged woman who asked me where I had gotten the game program I bought. Probably a player's mom. I didn't talk with her beyond telling her where to get a program, but she seemed nice enough.

The father of one of the linebackers for Kent State parked next to us while we tailgated. He and his friends were very friendly and definitely not arrogant. They flew in to Kansas City from Florida and drove up to Ames for the game.

I would have loved to have gone to the game but unless we play in-state and on a saturday most of us can't make it. That plus there are about a hundred D1-A schools in our state so our fan base is small even by mid-major standards. So other than Alumni and thier families theres no real motivation to become a KSU fan when you have Ohio State so close and the large city of Akron with thier Zips so close by. We have Akron, Toledo, Bowling Green, Ohio State, Ohio U, Miami of Ohio, and to an extent Cincy. So yea our fan base is small but loyal (especially in basketball where we are looking for our 10th straight year with 20+ wins).

Our average home attendance was only ~17,000 last year. Thats up almost 10,000 per game compared to 2005 (thanks to thier $1 Miller Lite drafts promotoion)
