ABC 5: Hoiberg - Done Deal

Let me start by saying I'm thrilled by last season's results. I also think that recruiting looks great, particularly given today's news about ISU's ranking in that area. I'm a HUGE fan of HoiBall and couldn't be happier with where ISU is today, especially given the pitiful performance of the prior coach, whose name I will not utter.

However, some of you guys are acting like Fred has already won back-to-back conference titles with a final four appearance to boot. Everything looks encouraging at this point, but the fact is that it's still way too soon to say whether Fred has "arrived" yet. I think it will happen, but I'd first like to see how the first year of the post-Royce White era goes!

I, too, am still skeptical. Two years and no final four appearances. Fred has some work to do.

This certainly looks like a great hire. I suspect he will want to get the program turned around quickly, and will likely go out and try to get a few great transfers. Of course, they won't be able to play right away, most likely delaying our reentry into the NCAA tournament until Fred's second year. After injecting some immediate talent into the system, he'll probably focus more on high school players, finding a few under-recruited players that rise up the national rankings after they have committed.

After a couple of years this will look like a great hire.....but Fred will still have to prove he can keep the program on the upswing for the long term.

Gotta say I nailed this one.....

Um yes you will hear crickets.

This, this right here....

This is why I occasionally reread this thread just to remind myself just how little some of the "experts" on this site don't actually know....

The more I think about it, the more I like it. Its a bold move, but if he has good assistants he can close a recruit like nobody's business. He knows basketball, he knows ISU, and he has some of the best facilities in the B12 to work with. That practice facility is gonna earn its stripes.

Suck it *******. I even remember being in the Agronomy Hall library posting this when it all went down.

haha, i got called an expert.

and i'm here to take my medicine. This is pretty funny. Apparently I was not happy about the hire.

Also somebodies name on here is "dieforisu" or something along those lines. I mean I'm very proud of my university, but....

Soo many idiotsticks in this thread. They should not even be allowed to be fans anymore. We should continue to bump this until all nimrods read what they wrote in this thread.
