Hey, like the title says we're going to St. Louis for a long weekend trip. Just to take in the big city Christmas experience. We have 2.5 yr old. Looking for family friendly things to do in winter. Seeing if I can crowd source some advice.

We are staying down by the Arch.
We are doing a Polar Express ride at the Union Station.
Planning on doing a Children's Museum, this is my main question. There are a few, which one is "the one". Is it Magic House, on Kirkwood Rd?
Anything else I need to do or seriously consider?

Thanks in advance!

City museum is very popular with children, and is fairly close to where you’re staying. If the weather is good Forest Park is always a good time and also has a zoo.

Other than that good luck, St Louis is a hell hole that I couldn’t wait to leave after my two years spent there.

Children’s museum is great. Might be a little old for your kid but the city museum was awesome for our kids 7, 11, 13 at the time. Can always do the arch or the zoo. We found some good restaurants in the forest park area too (at at a really good barbecue joint and a nice Mexican restaurant I believe east of forest park).

Zoo lights @ St Louis Zoo, Holiday Lights @ Grant Farms & Candy Cane Lane by Ted Drews ( get a Concrete) which is in South City. Magic House you mentioned is good. All are 2.5 year old friendly.

We went this summer. I'm told the area by the Arch has been revitalized and the Zoo is world class

The rest of the city.....ummm..... Was just reading that it's right up there with Detroit for population loss.

It’s pretty sad because in the early to mid 20th century it must’ve been one hell of a city. But it’s become so economically depressed over the last 40 years that the city has fallen apart. I lived downtown near the city museum and just north of my apartment were square miles of bombed out old brick homes that were straight out of a post apocalyptic movie.
