Harris list the Iowa State-Nebraska game here. I agree that this game will be pretty big. Iowa State will be fresh off UNI and Texas, as well as Iowa. Im hoping by the time this game comes around we only have one loss, and Nebraska has USC in LA before this so they should also have a loss. I think Nebraska is going into this season slightly overrated, but should be about even talent with ISU.

How do you see us only having one loss? I have to tell you, I love beating the Hawks. But, I don't see it this year, and Texas is going to be tough.

All of our North games are winnable. We take Nebraska, we can take the North. We get to that Championship game, and anything can happen.

I said I am hoping for one loss. Yes the Texas and Iowa games are going to be tough, Im just hoping we can take at least one of the tough road games betwenn Iowa, Texas, and Oklahoma. Last year EVERYONE deemed the saturday we played Texas AM as yard work Saturday, cause no one thought we had a chance in hell to beat A&M on the road, but look what happened. Realistically we will prob have 2 losses going into Nebraska, but Im hoping we can pull and early upset somewhere!

What is it about Iowa this fall that so many Cyclone fans are automatically chalking it up as a loss?

Offensively, they've got a very good back in Young. Tate is a good QB, whether folks want to admit it or not. I'm not sure what their offensive line looks like, last year it was somewhat suspect. WR's - they're not strong there. IMO, if we can slow down Young, our defense "beats" their offense.

They always field a good defense and that line will be much improved. But keep in mind they lost both of their defensive leaders. I don't know too much about the secondary other than one of the corners graduated. We all know what kind of power we have on offense - I'd be very surprised if we scored anything less than 25 points on offense.

Personally, I think the game is a toss-up. I can see Iowa getting the edge based on it being in Iowa City - but automatically saying we can't be Iowa - c'mon.

I'd rather take an Iowa loss with a possible win at OU or Tech. Beathing the Hawks is awesome, but I'd like a chance for a championship and BCS. $$$

I agree. Yet I can't get on board with the mentality we can't be Iowa this fall.

nowadays its never an automatic win for either team Iowa or Iowa State...10 years ago if we went into iowa city you could chalk one up for the hawks heck if they came to Ames we didnt havea chance. Coach Mac has done agood job facing Iowa the past 8 years and neither team has an advantage who ever makes more mistakes than the other team wins it is rarely one of the teams beats the other its more like one team loses. if we pull out a win over OU or UT id be way more impressed that will get this team more respect and a better bowl than a win against any mediocore 11 team. Fire up for the season come to the game early and never leave early cheer loud lose your voice remember you have sunday to recover before the next week. GO CLONES!!!

That's the way any great rivalry should be! It's pointless and no fun for anyone if one team unquestionably dominates the other. It's like picking a fight with a kindergartener- yeah, you'll win, but that's a pretty hollow "victory" there, bud.

I think Iowa State and Iowa are, all in all, pretty evenly matched. And with Kinnick's reworked seating chart (that resulted in a loss of space for Hawkeye fans while gaining space for Cyclones), I don't even know that there's going to be a huge home field advantage. There'll be a bit, of course- this is Kinnick Stadium- but we'll have so many people there that it'll be pretty much negated. I'm excited for the game! Remember, in the entire history of this series, only four times has a team only won a single contest in a row. (eg. One school wins the game for at least 3 years straight before losing, and we won last year...)

I think we caused Iowa's mistakes last year. Take was on the run alot from our D-line before he was knocked out of the game. I think we created those errors last year, and were a better team at the time of the game. It was not domination like some of the Hawk wins during their streak, but I felt we were clearly the better team on the field.

It's a big stadium and there will be far more hawks than clones. It will definitely be a home field advantage. The hawks will be loud and hungry for a win after what happened to them last year in Ames.

Exactly. And remember last year too. No one gave us a fighting chance. Not to mention 2004 in Iowa City. Sure, we lost. But damn, that was a helluva game that Iowa fans left feeling like they had lost.

Anything is possible - and this game is certainly not an automatic loss. In fact, I don't see a game on our schedule you can say with great certainly we'll lose.

That tells me right there, Iowa State football has come a very long ways.

No offensive but I'll be happy if we hang with Texas and OU for a half.
