#18 will be the number by our name as we make our run deep into the Big 12 Tournament. Also, #19 in the Coaches Poll.

Both Polls: NCAA College Basketball Polls, College Basketball Rankings, NCAA Basketball Polls - ESPN

Also, Charlie Creme has us back up to a #4 seed in today's Bracketology. While he indicates our stock is rising, his comments about our recent wins really is spot on.

Bracketology: Bracketology - ESPN
The cyclones are the one team between 10 and 20 on the S-curve that hasn't been losing in the past two weeks. However, the wins have been against the bottom of the Big 12, and the fact remains that ISU has only one even remotely significant win outside of Ames, over San Diego State in Honolulu back in November.

Hmm, a match up with UConn in the sweet 16 would be .... I'm not sure what the word is I'm looking for. Little help?

So we could meet UCONN in the elite 8? That would be crazy!

Ok maybe sweet 16 I think I looked at it wrong...

Charlie Creme just can't bring himself to like ISU. I would say a win at Lubboch counts as a good road win too.

Didn't care to see us in UConn's bracket....ouch....

I hope we make it to the elite eight! It would fit right in with the reunion we had! Let it rock!

Like watching the men in 2005 against soon-to-be-ncaa-champions UNC.

The last time we faced UCONN we beat them. I believe that was UCONN's only loss that season as well. I watched that game on tv and loved every second of it. That Ahole coach from UCONN had numerous meltdowns that game which were hillarious. Let's hope ISU can make him have an encore performance.:notworthy:

the guy clearly doesnt think that iowa should excell in any sports. jerk!
A good showing in the tournament, and maybe we can jump aTm and baylor. Those look like the only open spots in the top 12, really. That or impress enough to push out FSU, who doesn't have any more games to play. That could always happen I guess. No way anyone's pushing Ohio State out, even if they are a little overrated. Maybe not - maybe they'll surprise come tournament time

Coaches poll out - Original post edited.

Kansas State and their surprising win over ranked Texas jump from #21 to #16, while we moved from #22 to #19.

Just gonna have to keep truckin and prove ourselves in the tourney to make sure KSU doesn't jump us in tourney seeding. Hopefully aTm helps us out there.

If ISU gets to the semi's i think they end up in the 4 or 5 seed and that limits where they can go. I don't see them ending up in Iowa's bracket even thou they wouldn't see them till sweet 16 they won't be in Oklahoma's bracket either so that puts them in either UCONN's bracket or the other 1 seed. If they end up in Louisvilles bracket i think that might not be a bad place to go

I was on a cruise a few years ago when I saw a woman wearing a UConn jacket. I was wearing ISU gear. I asked her if she was a WBB fan as I knew that they had great WBB teams. She said "Yes but you guys beat us the last time we played. That won't happen again!" We didnt have any further discussion but it was evident that the loss was still fresh in her mind. I think UConn might like to see us again.
