Wow that's horrible. So what did your friend do? We had an amazing DJ, so we got really lucky....the DJ can really set the tone for the evening in my opinion.

That's good they got by. I suppose that's what I would do too in that situation.

I knew a couple that were told the venue they had wanted wasn't going to happen nor were they going to get a refund. So within the last month before the wedding, they had to pretty much start from square one with the reception.

Try finding a DJ that can move and shake like this.

Just a head's up a friend booked this DJ for his wedding and the DJ never showed up. My friend paid him in full several months ago. The DJ will not return calls or emails.

He is going to small claims court to pursue the DJ.

I know we are past wedding planning this summer but just a head's up.

That sucks bc that definitely would ruin a night, that would have to be salvaged. Seems fishy. Also, a lot of 5.0 on reviews, which hard to believe someone was THAT blown away that many times. I never met with this DJ, glad I didn't. I'm happy with who we picked.

I've always thought that there are 2 big things you can either be a big hit with or complete disaster with a wedding reception and that is the food you serve and the DJ because those are probably 2 of the biggest things people will remember from a wedding other than a really good best man or maid of honor speech.

Having a "do or do not" play list of songs that you either want to make sure get played or don't get played is a must too. One song that I have seen done in taste is "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" when there is some goofy groomsmen are singing to the bride in a Top Gun funny kind of way but to have that song played as a random slow song to dance to I've seen happen before as well and man is it just almost a creepy feeling considering the occasion.

Were they able to get a new location in time? Also why were they not able to get a refund?

I think they figured out a new location and last I checked they were just beginning the legal process to get their money back.
