I thought first round rookie deals were pretty standard, not much negotiating allowed?
The dollar amounts are generally standardized, but not some of the contract language. This is a situation where the Bengals are trying to insert language that would allow them to void the entire deal in some circumstances. It's not language that they've ever had in their contracts previously, and Stewart doesn't want to be the first one to have it in his contract.

It's good for Jayden since he was the 1st one to get a fully guaranteed contract as a 2nd rounder but have a feeling it's going to lead to other 2nd rounders missing some Training Camp time.

My initial reaction is that the Dolphins came out a little bit better here. Fitzpatrick is 28. Still some prime years left for him. Ramsey is 30 and on the downswing. He's still probably a top 20 corner in the league. Maybe top 15. Jonnu Smith? Meh. He's alright.

Jonnu Smith would have been the best receiver on the Steelers last year. Sure, that's more of an indictment of the Steelers 2024 receiving corps than anything, but 88 recs and 8 tds aren't nothing on a team that had Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle and only 11 games from Tua.

Fair point. Arod will utilize him.
